「初めて」の表現

• ちゃんとした理解をすることができなかった
• ひとまずパターンとして覚える

• … for the first time.

  • I saw the wild penguins for the first time.

• This is the first time I have … .

  • This is the first time I have seen the wild penguins.

• This is the first time verb + ing … .

  • This is the first time seeing the wild penguins.

• It was the first time … .

  • It was the first time that I saw the wild penguins.

仮説

• first time は名詞？

  • the が付いてるし
• for the first time の場合は 前置詞 for に the first time の名詞が続くことで「初めてのため」という意味から「初めて」という意味になる？

• This is the first time I have … の場合は that が省略されている？

  • この場合の that はどういう役割？

    • the first time を説明する関係代名詞？

      • でも後続の文が完全形だから違う気がする

    • 接続詞の that？

      • でも接続詞の that だと名詞節になるから、動詞が目的語を 2 つとらないとおかしいけど動詞は is だから目的語を 2 つ取るようには思えない

• This is the first time verb + ing … の場合は何もかもわからない

  • なんで動名詞が後ろに来る？

• It was the first time … の場合は it が形式主語になっている？

  • これだったら理解できる
